What better way to get my littlest #Ready4Preschool than with some friendly familiar faces from Disney Junior? While visiting Walmart the other day I found some super fun learning activities and with the help of Sofia the First, Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Doc Mcstuffins and Jake and the Neverland Pirates (not pictured) my daughters have started to get ready for back to school.

Once I saw the Learning Easel Activity Center, I knew we had to have it. This is such a fun tool to have at home to help make learning fun. The easel features one of our favorites, Sofia the First and has pockets to hold letters, numbers, words, pictures, and number sentences. In my house, my daughters love to learn but can get very distracted or bored right away while being at home. This Learning Easel Activity Center helps give them more structured learning, it's like being in a classroom.

I also found these Learning activity packets for under $5. Each pack has a different focus: letters, numbers or first words and fun ways to learn and practice them. For us, learning continues from the moment I pick them up from preschool and walk home. It must be the teacher's spirit that lives deep down inside of me. As we walk home, we talk about what they learned in school, about the nature we see around us, spell the names of the streets and sing songs.

Once we get home it's time for preschool homework, and now we can have fun reinforcing what they are learning in school with the new easel. My girls can have hours of learning fun with the easel and all of the cards it comes with. I am all for anything that makes my job easier, as a parent, that's all I can ask for.

What's your favorite number? My littlest is still trying to get the hang of her numbers, 1-10 she's got, but she could use some help with numbers 11-20, and those little number sentences are perfect for my oldest who is just going into kindergarten.

Oh and for added fun and practice, flip the easel over and find a white board ready for the kids to practice their writing skills. This may be the most fun part for my girls, they love the dry erase boards.

Look at all the fun Disney Junior back to school stuff you can find at Walmart and for such a great price!

Preschool for the Littlest!

Back in August I wrote a post about my oldest daughter's first day of preschool. Well a few weeks later, I found out that there was an opening at another local preschool, open to younger students, which was perfect for my littlest!

This school is pretty special for me. 10 years ago when I was a senior in high school, I was in the Careers with Children program. This program gives Seniors an idea of what being a teacher is like. The students are responsible for lesson and meal planning, and have one or two preschool age students that they are responsible for, for 2 hours 4 days out of the week. The program focuses on learning the basics, while doing crafts and learning to socialize.

I am not all that excited about her growing up, but she is. She loves her school and her teacher and is learning so much.
This past weekend was my old high school's Homecoming. Again, 10 years ago, I was in the homecoming parade with some of my students. This year, my littlest was lucky enough to be in the parade. The theme of the Homecoming was The Return of the Super Mule, so they encouraged the "baby mules" to dress as a super hero. They all looked so cute. I couldn't decide what to dress her as, but she is in love with her light up boots, so we started there. I found her leotard with the Super emblem on it, added some red tights, and whipped up a quick cape. I also tied a red bow in her hair. She loved it, and that's all that matters. This preschool program was such a life-changer for me when I was a Senior and I love being able to re-live the memories with my daughter and her teacher.

My baby's 1st day of PreSchool!

The most anticipated day of the year (in this household) has come and gone. Lacey's 1st day of school went off without a hitch! The truth is, I was probably more nervous than she was. I mean, although she was not my first baby, she was my first baby that I got to take home and hold. That may have been why I had an abnormal attachment to her. As a baby, it took me a few weeks before it felt like I was really keeping her, and because of that I spent every moment with her.
I considered homeschooling them for a minute there, before I realized how much they drive me crazy! And how much they would love going to school. Lacey woke up with a smile, brushed her teeth, got dressed, ate breakfast and posed for pictures. She was so calm and ready. While other kids cried, she waved goodbye. She had a great day at preschool and couldn't wait to get back. Her school seems pretty amazing and I can't wait to see how she grows and adapts at school.

(BTW: The sign you see her holding was a $2- 20 minute project. I bought a black foam board and colored chalk from the Dollar store, 20 minutes later you have a perfect prop for a Back to School picture.)

Things we need for the 1st day of Preschool! #KleenexBTS #LatinaBloggers

*This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Latina Bloggers Connect and Kleenex however, all opinions are my own.

Recently while making small talk at a family party, I asked my husband's cousin's husband, "So, how's work going?" His response was, "Busy! For some reason, back to school is a busy time for Kleenex." (He works for Kimberly-Clarke) It hit me right then, he was right. Kleenex is a very important part of Back To School and now it was time to start preparing Lacey for school. This is her first time going to school, and I can guarantee I will be crying my eyes out. :)

There are so many different scenarios that I have been looking forward to when Lacey starts school. I can't wait for her to bring home her own little handmade projects, for her to tell me about her new best friend, and of course for her to learn new things that I have not taught her. I can't wait to help her with her projects and dive in and be an involved parent. I was partially done with my teaching credential classes before I became a stay at home mommy, so there is a part of me that feels a longing for the classroom.

As I contemplated Lacey's Back to School essentials, I created an inspiration board for things that I feel Lacey might need before starting school. You better believe I have hand sanitizer and Kleenex on my list! I HATE when my kids are sick, every time my kids are sick, my Facebook status is: "Sick babies suck!" Lol! I know that is just part of the deal when kids go to school that they will come home sick and all I can do is feed them their vitamins, teach them to sanitize their hands, and wipe their noses with Kleenex. Thankfully, Kleenex Everyday Tissue with Sneeze Shield is now thicker and more absorbent to help keep the moco's from escaping and I love that they come in handy compact, travel sizes to fit in their pockets or backpacks.

Things we need for the 1st day of Preschool!

I can't wait to volunteer at her school and now I finally have a reason to start collecting Box Tops for Education to help support my daughter's school. Box Tops for Education coupons can be found on more than 240 products, and is an easy way to help raise funds for your school. It is so simple to take advantage of this opportunity, just cut the Box Top and return it to your child's school. Each Box Top for Education is worth 10 cents, and can be found on Kleenex products too. Last year alone, Box Tops for Education earned $80 million. Imagine what you could do for your child's school?

Kleenex's Everyday Tissue with sneeze shield is definitely on my Back to School list to help protect Lacey from germs but, let's keep it real, I will need strong tissue to wipe my tears away as I drop her off at her first day of school. Yup! I am that Mom who will be bawling my eyes out as I turn to walk away.
Do you collect Box Tops for Education? Which Back to School products do you find them on?
