I didn't think I'd love the LEGO movies as much as I do, but I loved the first LEGO Movie, and then loved LEGO BATMAN and now this one, the LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE had me laughing so hard and out loud and possibly even more than my kids. #LEGONINJAGOMovie ADRead More
Remember when life was simple and Storks still delivered babies. Well, now they're busy delivering packages for global internet giant Cornerstore. Junior, the company’s top delivery stork, is about to be promoted when he accidentally activates the Baby Making Machine, producing an adorable, unauthorized pink haired baby girl. Desperate to deliver this bundle of trouble before the boss gets wise, Junior and his friend Tulip, the only human on Stork Mountain, race to make their first-ever baby drop – in a wild and revealing journey that could make more than one family whole and restore the storks’ true mission in the world.
We were lucky enough to be invited to an early screening and celebration of Storks. I'll be very honest with you, I didn't know much about the movie before screening it. I saw some early scenes and read the synopsis, but didn't know what to expect. I was in for such a surprise! I laughed throughout most of the movie and was even reminded of a very important lesson.
Get ready to fall in love with these new characters. Junior, voiced by Andy Samberg is brave and funny, Tulip, voiced by Katie Crown, is a strong female character that all little girls will love. Oh and that Pigeon dressed in a shirt and tie is the hilarious Pigeon Toady, voiced by Steven Kramer Glickman.
As you can see we were treated to some food and treats after the screening, it was such a fun evening.
And the baby, well the baby is just adorable. As a parent, when you watch the interaction with the baby, it will take you back to parenting an infant, which for me, is at least 5 years ago. The filmmakers did a great job with that. When asked about how the baby ended up with pink hair, Producer Brad Lewis said, "Early on when we were talking about baby hair colors, it's like if--we want the movie to lift the audience a little bit out of their seats. We don't want it ground in reality so much. We wanted to have a combination of natural haired characters and fun haired characters. Everybody just kind of went, "Oh, this is a crazy baby factory." It's like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. This is, you know, our baby factory. So, we want it to be wondrous."
This is the family that the movie begins with. They provide the lesson that I was talking about earlier in the post. Watching this family on the screen was just like watching, not only myself but so many other families nowadays. The movie starts with these parents that are so incredibly busy, working from home, and a son who wants nothing more than their attention. It's so easy to get caught up in our everyday stuff and it was a great reminder to stop and play with the kids, while they're still kids.
Chances are you don't know who Katie Crown is... yet. But get ready because she's a new young, funny voice who stands out as Tulip. Tulip is a strong female character for young ladies to look up to.
"Yes, I hope they like her. I think she's a really cool character. It's nice playing someone who's really fun, affable, but also super smart. She's an inventor... You know, she's got a lot of good ideas. It's really fun being able to play someone like that." -Katie Crown
Check out the trailer below and take the family out for a good time this weekend. Storks is out in theaters everywhere September 23rd.
This blog post is part of a paid program between Megan Media and Sony Pictures. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.
The love between a mother and her children is the strongest bond there is. The way a mom knows what her child needs based on the sound of their cry or how a mother's instinct can tell you things that even science can't explain, motherhood truly is wonderful. There is so much about motherhood that no one can prepare you for and losing a child is one of those things. Having lost my son, I know that there is no greater hurt than having to say goodbye to your child.
There are few films that have touched my heart, and Miracles from Heaven is one of them. Honestly, if I wasn't a mother who has already lost a child, I'm not sure if this film would have touched me as deeply as it did. But that's who I am, I am a Mom of two daughters here on earth and a son who lives in heaven. What got me through the toughest times of my life was my faith and this film will help remind everyone that you can never lose faith because miracles happen every day.
Last week I was invited to Sony Studios in Culver City to attend a screening of Miracles from Heaven, a new film brought to the screen from the same producers of Heaven is for Real. If you have never had the pleasure of touring a studio, then let me tell you, it is kinda magical. There is something really cool about being behind the scenes where all the ideas come to life. When I first saw the trailer I knew I would be watching with a box of tissues and I am telling you now that you too will require tissues or a sleeve to wipe away the tears. As I sat in the theater surrounded by my fellow bloggers, there were very few dry eyes left. Miracles from Heaven will give you all of the feelings there are to feel and possibly even leave you with a renewed sense of faith.
Miracles from Heaven has an amazing cast that does a great job of portraying the true stories of real people. Jennifer Garner shines as Christy Beam, the mother of 10 year old Anna, played by Kylie Rogers.
When Anna falls ill and is diagnosed with an incurable disease, Christy fights for her daughter to get the best treatment possible. As the Beam family struggles with the hardships of Anna's deteriorating health, Christy begins to lose faith, even though Anna's faith never wavers. One day, as Anna plays outside with her sisters, she gets hurt during a freak accident and to everyone's shock, not only survives, but is miraculously healed.
Martin Henderson, Eugenio Derbez and Queen Latifah do a fantastic job in supporting roles of lightening up an otherwise heavy and emotional film. They really do a great job of injecting humor into the story.
The film is great from beginning to end and what I loved most is that it is based on true events. This is a true story of family, medicine, faith and miracles. I left feeling both heavy hearted and inspired and I just really needed to hug my girls. The film's release is perfect for the Easter season. Take your daughters, your mothers and grandmothers, the film teaches a lesson that we all need to hear; miracles happen every day, all around us, we just need to keep the faith.
Miracles from Heaven is in theaters everywhere on March 16, watch the trailer below.

I just love when my entire family gets excited about a new movie. All of us, including my husband can't wait to see The Peanuts Movie. This weekend we were invited to not only spend Halloween morning riding rides and drinking Boysenberry Punch at Knott's Berry Farm, we also got to meet and interview the voices behind the characters from The Peanuts Movie. Since the stars we were meeting were kids, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for my daughter to do her first interview.
A little bit about the movie: Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved PEANUTS Gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Charlie Brown, the world’s most beloved underdog, embarks upon an epic and heroic quest, while his best pal, the lovable beagle Snoopy, takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.
My daughter was so super excited to meet Francesca Capaldi, the voice behind the Little Red Haired Girl who also happens to be Charlie Brown's love interest in the new movie. Capaldi is best known for her work as Chloe on Disney Channel's Dog with A Blog. I think this may have been the first time my daughter has met someone that she watches on TV, so it was kind of a big deal.
So, out of all of the Peanuts movies and comics, I must say Lucy is my favorite. I just love her sassy attitude. I asked Hadley Belle Miller, the voice of Lucy what her favorite part of the movie was and she said she likes when she throws the football at Charlie Brown's head. Haha! She also told me that her favorite part of being the voice of Lucy was being able to play a strong female role.
As we all know Snoopy is a dog of few words. But when I asked him if he was excited about the new movie, he danced around. I'll take that as a yes. I can't wait to see the movie and I am even more excited that the movie will help the next generations of kids know and love Snoopy and the Peanut gang the way I grew up knowing and loving them. The Peanuts Movie has a great message for everyone,
“Charlie Brown gets referred to as a loser all the time,” laments Craig Schulz, the son of Charles M. Schulz and one of THE PEANUTS MOVIE’s writers and producers. “But in reality, Charlie Brown is a winner because he never gives up. We all lose a lot more than we win, and who better than Charlie Brown to teach us that?”
Check out the trailer below.
Tell me: Who's your favorite member of the Peanuts gang?
This post and giveaway is sponsored however, as always, all opinions are mine.
