Halloween Hair and Johnson's No More Tangles

Halloween Hair and Johnson's No More Tangles

Halloween costume decisions are kind of a big deal around here. Since my littlest has been obsessed with Unicorns all year long, we could not think of a more appropriate costume for her. I was planning on DIY'ing the whole costume, but we happen to stumble upon a Unicorn costume while out shopping one day. The costume came with a horn on a headband but, I just knew I had to make my own tweaks. With the head of hair on this little girl, I knew we would have enough to make our very own Unicorn horn.

Finding the Perfect Hairstyle for Holiday Pictures #NoMoreTangles

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® and Latina Bloggers Connect, however all photos and opinions are mine.

The holiday season is here and it's time for all the fun family dinners, holiday school programs, and my favorite, holiday pictures. Once a year I get out from behind the camera, dress my girls in brand new clothes and take a family photo. If you've ever attempted family photos with two little ones, you know how hectic that can be. As important as clothes and location are for photos, our hairstyles need to be on point too. Check out our perfect hairstyle for holiday pictures with the help of Johnson's No More Tangles products.

This is my wild child. Her personality is wild and so is her hair; thick, long and wild. She doesn't sit still for anything, so you can only imagine how difficult it can be to not only do her hair, but take the perfect family photo.

That excited face right there shows her love for the No More Tangles leave-in conditioner. With that head full of thick long hair she has grown to adore the leave-in conditioner, it makes brushing so much easier. I love it because it helps nourish the hair and keep it manageable at the same time.

For best results, do yourself a favor and try this 3 step regimen. The #NoMoreTangles products make my life easier, especially since I have to manage so much hair. Keep reading for my perfect hairstyle for the holidays.

Here is the step by step for our favorite holiday hairstyle:

The French Braid Double Crown.

  • After following the Johnson's 3-step regimen above, you can then begin by parting the hair from one side and comb.
  • Next, start the braid from the top of the part and continue by pulling pieces from the face frame to add to the braid, like a French braid. Once the hair from around the face is braided, continue the braid down to the tips of the hair.
  • Then wrap the braid around to the other side of the head and while gathering the hair from the other side of the part, start braiding the first braid into a new braid, and all the way down to the tip.
  • Lastly, you're going to wrap the braid back around to the other side where you first began and tuck and pin the tail of the braid into the rest of the hair.
  • That's it! Oh and don't forget to add a beautiful bow.

Gosh, they grow up so fast. That's one of the reasons I consider holiday photos so important, each year you can look back and see how much everyone has grown and changed. The holidays are such a wonderful time for familia and I hope you enjoy the moments you spend together.

We are Back to School with #NoMoreTangles and a fun #Sweepstakes

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® and Latina Bloggers Connect.

Are you back yet? We are about to end Week 2 of this school year and I am proud to say, we are getting back into the swing of things around here. For us, morning time can get a little hectic, but our morning routine, goes something like this:
First, I wake everyone up as gently as possible, hoping for good moods.
Second, we brush our teeth and use the restroom. They are finally old enough to do this on their own.
Third, it's time to get dressed. This has gotten easier since I started picking out their clothes the night before.
Fourth, we have a small snack to help get us going. Usually, half a pop tart and some milk, oatmeal, or toast.
Fifth and last before we leave the house is the brushing and styling of the hair.
A few weeks ago as we prepared for back to school, our family hairdresser Aunty Tricia cut about 10 inches off of this soon to be kindergartner's hair. She agreed to a "big girl" haircut, but for me, I was happy it would be less hair for me to manage.
We are a #NoMoreTangles family and use the 3 step regimen every day to help their hair stay healthy and manageable.
The three-step regimen is essential for maintaining healthy-looking and nourished hair.
● Step 1: JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® Shampoo & Conditioner leaves hair beautiful and easy to manage.
● Step 2: JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® Leave In Conditioner controls wild frizz and tangles for silky, shiny hair.
● Step 3: JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® Detangling Spray instantly unlocks stubborn knots in wet or dry hair.
Now let me share with you one of our favorite easy hair styles for back to school. Back to school hair has to be quick and easy but of course, stylish right?
  1. I part her hair from both sides of her temple, back and across the back of her head. I like to tie back the rest of her hair to keep it out of the way.
  2. Part a section from the top of her head and tie with a rubber band.
  3. Part another section and grab that and the previous little pony tale and tie with another rubber band.
  4. Grab the last section of hair and the previous pony tale and tie with the last rubber band. Let loose the rest of the hair and that's it! An easy and cute way to style your hair for back to school.

I love this hairdo and it can be dressed up with rubber bands to match the outfit of the day or add a bow!
What are your favorite back to school hairdos? I know you took pictures of your little ones on their 1st day of school, everyone does! So why not share their hair back to school hairstyles?

I Will Never Forget My First #PromiseToBaby

This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with JOHNSON’S® Baby and Latina Bloggers Connect, however all opinions are my own.

Becoming a mom has been the most challenging time in my life. If you have been reading my blog for a while, then you know that my journey into motherhood was not an easy one. When my son passed away I made a very important promise to him, that I will never forget him. An easy promise to make and keep forever, I think about him every day.
Once my daughter was born, the first promise I ever made to her was that I would never let her go, I promised to always be there for her and hold her whenever she needed me. A year and a half later, I had to make another very important promise to her. I promised that even though she now had a younger sister, I will always love the both of them the same and that I will always be there for the both of them. Promises are never taken lightly. Life passes by so quickly now, those promises that you make to your little one are memories that will last forever.

Johnson's products are a big part of the memories I have of when my littles were babies. A very special memory I have from the few hours I got to spend with my son, was bathing him with Johnson's baby wash. A year later when I had my daughter, my favorite baby product was the soothing lavender lotion, it made her feel so comfy and smell so wonderful. Those are some of the most priceless memories I have. Johnson's is a part of almost every moms first days as a parent. Recently, some mothers have expressed concern about the ingredients used in Johnson's products and they listened. Although Johnson's baby products have always been safe, they changed their formulas to give moms peace of mind.

As the new products hit shelves, Johnson's has launched a heartfelt campaign called “Your Promise is Our Promise” as a way to express their ongoing commitment to moms. Just as I make promises to my daughters, moms make promises to their children, Johnson's baby also makes promises so moms don’t have to worry about the products they use on their littles.
Check out Johnson's commitment to moms everywhere in their “Our Promise” video and make sure to share  their promise with other mothers. The concept was inspired by a Japanese legend that says folding 1,000 origami cranes will result in a wish granted and a promise fulfilled. I love the sentiment behind it.

So make sure to keep an eye out for Johnson's baby seven newly reformulated products:
JOHNSON’S® Baby HEAD-TO-TOE® Wash
JOHNSON’S® Baby Lotion
JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo
JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo & Conditioner for Thick and Curly Hair
JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo & Conditioner for Thin and Straight Hair
JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo with Calming Lavender
JOHNSON’S® Baby Soothing Vapor Baby Bath

What is your favorite Johnson's baby product?
