I feel better when I tell my kids to Shut Up. I don't say it in the same tone that you would tell your older brother or sister. But, when all I hear is noise and arguing and whining, I will turn to them and look them in the eye and say, SHUT. UP. And, just like that. I feel better.
Yes, we're not all perfect. Go ahead, don't be shy. Share your Bad Mom confession below.
It’s official: “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™” will open at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, April 7, 2016!
Did you read the books? See the movies? I have! I dedicated many hours reading all of the books until the early morning hours and have enjoyed seeing all of the films over the years. As I visited Universal Studios, Hollywood this year I could see that they were creating Hogwarts and it is so exciting to think that very soon I will be able to transport ourselves into the fictional land that I saw in my mind.
“The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” is being masterfully recreated with impeccable detail as a real-world interpretation at Universal Studios Hollywood. The land will be faithful to the visual landscape of the fiction and films, including Hogwarts castle which will serve as its iconic focal point. From its snow-capped roofs and cobblestone streets to the historic British sensibilities that characterize the whimsical look and feel of the land, “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” will transport guests of all ages to the very places they read about in the stories or watched on the screen.
Upon entering the land through the archway, Hogsmeade will bustle to life with the same
vitality of a quaint local village: merchants hard at work, a train conductor welcoming new arrivals and a pub packed to the gills with hungry patrons, but with the added element of enthusiastic guests intent on experiencing them all, including the land’s signature ride, “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey,” and the family outdoor coaster, “Flight of the Hippogriff™.”
“The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” will resonate with immense detail, inviting guests to revel in Harry Potter’s world with the opportunity to enjoy authentic food and beverage at multiple locations, including Three Broomsticks™, and Hog's Head pub, as well as the Magic Neep and Butterbeer™ carts.
A foray through the shops will add to the authenticity of the land with eight retail venues and locations, including Honeydukes™, Ollivanders™, Owl Post™, Zonko’s™ Joke Shop, Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment, Dervish and Banges, Gladrags Wizardwear and Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods™.

I love when Disney Pixar releases a movie poster for their new movie. I immediately run to Google and search to find out any details I can. I remember seeing the movie poster for "The Good Dinosaur" last year and time sure does fly by, because now here we are just weeks away from the release.
Film Synopsis: "The Good Dinosaur" asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo (voice of Raymond Ochoa) makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.
We're celebrating Dino Week this week (11/14-11/21) as we get ready for the theatrical release of Disney Pixar's newest film "The Good Dinosaur" opening everywhere on November 25th. Get your family ready with these printable activity and coloring sheets. Oh and make sure to visit #DinoWeek for more exclusive clips and activities all week long.
We will be screening Disney Pixar's "The Good Dinosaur" days before the release, so stay tuned for my review.
I just love when my entire family gets excited about a new movie. All of us, including my husband can't wait to see The Peanuts Movie. This weekend we were invited to not only spend Halloween morning riding rides and drinking Boysenberry Punch at Knott's Berry Farm, we also got to meet and interview the voices behind the characters from The Peanuts Movie. Since the stars we were meeting were kids, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for my daughter to do her first interview.
A little bit about the movie: Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved PEANUTS Gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Charlie Brown, the world’s most beloved underdog, embarks upon an epic and heroic quest, while his best pal, the lovable beagle Snoopy, takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.
My daughter was so super excited to meet Francesca Capaldi, the voice behind the Little Red Haired Girl who also happens to be Charlie Brown's love interest in the new movie. Capaldi is best known for her work as Chloe on Disney Channel's Dog with A Blog. I think this may have been the first time my daughter has met someone that she watches on TV, so it was kind of a big deal.
So, out of all of the Peanuts movies and comics, I must say Lucy is my favorite. I just love her sassy attitude. I asked Hadley Belle Miller, the voice of Lucy what her favorite part of the movie was and she said she likes when she throws the football at Charlie Brown's head. Haha! She also told me that her favorite part of being the voice of Lucy was being able to play a strong female role.
As we all know Snoopy is a dog of few words. But when I asked him if he was excited about the new movie, he danced around. I'll take that as a yes. I can't wait to see the movie and I am even more excited that the movie will help the next generations of kids know and love Snoopy and the Peanut gang the way I grew up knowing and loving them. The Peanuts Movie has a great message for everyone,
“Charlie Brown gets referred to as a loser all the time,” laments Craig Schulz, the son of Charles M. Schulz and one of THE PEANUTS MOVIE’s writers and producers. “But in reality, Charlie Brown is a winner because he never gives up. We all lose a lot more than we win, and who better than Charlie Brown to teach us that?”
Check out the trailer below.
Tell me: Who's your favorite member of the Peanuts gang?
It's almost here! Disney Channel is proud to debut its original movie,
, an epic live-action adventure comedy that presents the teenage kids of Disney’s most infamous villains. My girls and I were lucky enough to screen the movie last week and I have to say, you and your kids will LOVE it.
Disney's Descendants is a contemporary, music-driven story that centers around Mal (Dove Cameron), Evie (Sofia Carson), Carlos (Cameron Boyce) and Jay (Booboo Stewart), the teenage descendants of Disney’s villains — Maleficent (Kristin Chenoweth), the Evil Queen (Kathy Najimy), Cruella de Vil (Wendy Raquel Robinson) and Jafar (Maz Jobrani). Chenoweth nails Maleficent in a fun, energetic, and just evil enough way and Najimy as the Evil Queen does a great job being silly, evil and vain all at the same time.
Set 20 years after all the villains have been imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost, the teenagers face challenges in living up to parental and peer expectations. Pressured to follow in their parents’ evil footsteps, the villain kids realize they can determine their own fate and decide if they want to be good or evil.
It's such a cool story and although my girls are still a little young to read the book my oldest is dying to read it. I enjoy a contemporary twist on a classic, and that's exactly what Descendants is, with a little High School Musical thrown in. The musical numbers are catchy, the emotion and story was easy to follow and of course, everyone loves a happy ending and plot twist. Oh and the style! That was our favorite part. I love love love the funky style. My girls have already decided that they need to be Mal and Evie for Halloween this year.
For the past few years my daughters have mostly watched animated films. But, they're growing up and now really love watching all of the shows on Disney Channel. They were really excited that Dove Cameron (Mal) of Liv and Maddie was in this movie. I remember the feeling of excitement when one of my favorite TV stars was in a new movie, I just had to watch it. As sad as it is that my girls are growing up, I like being able to relate to their feelings. It's kinda cool. Darn, Disney does it again, always making me feel the feelings.
Check out the trailer (as if you haven't seen it yet) and make sure to tune in to Disney Channel this Friday, July 31 at 8 PM!
Summer movies are so fun this year and I am super excited to see Pixels in theaters later this month. This one is taking me back to my childhood for sure. Don't you love when something fun makes you feel nostalgic? Oh and did I mention this movie stars the hilarious Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad? That right there is a recipe for FUNNY! I was never very good at video games as a kid, and I must admit, I think Pacman gave me so much anxiety as a kid, but still I played it every chance I had. Check out these Pacman themed cookies I made.
If you haven't seen the trailer yet or heard about the film, here's your chance.
As kids in the 1980s, Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), Will Cooper (Kevin James), Ludlow Lamonsoff (Josh Gad), and Eddie “The Fire Blaster” Plant (Peter Dinklage) saved the world thousands of times – at 25 cents a game in the video arcades. Now, they’re going to have to do it for real. In Pixels, when intergalactic aliens discover video feeds of classic arcade games and misinterpret them as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth, using the video games as the models for their assaults -- and now-U.S. President Cooper must call on his old-school arcade friends to save the world from being destroyed by PAC-MAN, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Centipede, and Space Invaders. Joining them is Lt. Col. Violet Van Patten (Michelle Monaghan), a specialist supplying the arcaders with unique weapons to fight the aliens.
How would you like to win 4 VIP passes to see Pixels on July 22 in Burbank, CA?
Leave me a comment below telling me your favorite video game (and email) and I will choose a winner on 7/20. Easy, good luck!
This post and giveaway is sponsored however, as always, all opinions are mine.
