Oh man oh man, I am still recovering from our week of fun. Why didn't anyone warn me that filling our week with so much fun would be so exhausting? Haha. As tiring as it was, it was completely worth it. We spent the week touring our beloved Southern California. We went from Santa Monica, to Hollywood, to Long Beach, all the way down to Carlsbad... and back! Luckily for us we were traveling in both style and luxury in the 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir.Read More
One of my favorite places for our family to visit is the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. We've been here several times before on our own and on school field trips, but this trip was a extra special. The Aquarium of the Pacific’s 11th Annual International Children’s Day is a special festival for kids celebrating the amazing talents of children of all cultures. This festival features West African, Mexican, Pacific Islander, Cambodian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Persian dance performances. Also featured will be an international children’s choir and martial arts demonstrations. Kids of all ages can partake in a percussion circle, face painting, Japanese origami, Native American crafts, and Pacific Islander traditional children’s games.
The Aquarium will also honor a local youth with its annual Young Hero Award in recognition of his or her efforts to make our planet a better place. The Aquarium is a community gathering place where diverse cultures and the arts are celebrated.
"Our International Children’s Day is the culmination of all of our cultural festivals, where our various communities can come together to learn about the importance of working together to protect our ocean planet,” said Peter Martineau, Aquarium of the Pacific festival organizer.
People are encouraged to celebrate the children in their lives and children around the world with this special annual event.

There are some things we missed this time, that we hope to check out the next time we visit, like the Lorikeet forest and maybe one of their 4D films. I really wanted to feed the Lorikeets and get amazing pictures, but my girls were not cooperating at the time.
We had such a great time visiting the Aquarium of the Pacific. There is so much to do and see, before you visit, you should check out their calendar of events, and make sure to check their site for great deals, they offer a great deal on a ticket combo for the Los Angeles Zoo and the Aquarium of the Pacific. You can also find combos with whale watching and harbor cruises.
Thanks for reading!
