This Fall I will have been married to my husband for 9 very long years. I would never tell you it's been easy, because it hasn't. In fact, marriage and relationships are extremely difficult. Because marriage usually goes hand in hand with a family and kids, it's easy to forget to take the time to make each other feel special. Today I am sharing ideas on how to change that, how to remind your husband how special he is, with Man Care Package. (Don't worry you'll benefit from this too.)
After being married for almost 9 years and together for 14, I have finally realized a very important part of making my marriage a success. I have to make him feel special too. I totally admit to taking the role of the girl and just waiting to be spoiled and given gifts. But what about him? I might buy him a little something for our anniversary, but when do I ever give him a gift just because? That's why I thought of a Date Night Care Package with him in mind.
Everything you see above in the care package was picked up at Walmart. Including the
Pleasure Gel. While shopping, I tried to think of a few things my husband wants and needs. I picked up some new earbuds and phone accessories because I know he listens to music all day at work and could always use a new pair. I also picked up a few of his favorite snacks because I know him and included a gift card to one of our favorite restaurants with a note asking for a date night. I know the gift card will make him happy because that means we get to go to dinner just the two of us. The breath mints and the
Pleasure Gel are for the end of date night, if you know what I mean, wink wink.
Marriage is hard. It's not easy when everyday things get in your way of spending that valuable alone time together. Honestly, just knowing that we have
Pleasure Gel is like a reminder that intimacy and closeness is important. The picture above is of us on our anniversary 4 years ago. It's one of our only favorite pictures of us that we have and it hangs on our wall as a reminder of how much we mean to each other.
The other frame is a typograph of lyrics to one of our favorite songs from one of our favorite bands. I tracked down this artist on Instagram and begged her to send me the file to print as a gift for my husband. These are the types of little things that keep our relationship strong.
So what would you put in a care package for your husband? A few of his favorite things? Some necessities? I'd love to hear your ideas, let me know in the comment section below.
