If you were to have told me a month or two ago that I would be a fan of Star Wars, I would have laughed and probably smiled while flipping you the bird, because, that's just who I am. And up until last week, I had never seen one Star Wars movie. Like, ever. At all.
Recently I had the opportunity to not only screen the latest in the movie franchise, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but I got to see it a week before it opened at the Disney Studios. I also covered the Star Wars: The Last Jedi press conference for my friend Desiree, you can read about that here.
So I feel like I just kinda have to tell you that I LOVED the movie. But the best part was seeing it alongside real true, die hard fans. I only kinda new the story from what I've picked up on here and there over the years. I mean, I don't live under a rock. But the best part was watching everyone's reactions to the big moments. Some of these fans that I'm sitting with had been fans their entire lives. 40 years of following a story, 40 years of loving these characters. That's dedication.
Check out these super awesome Star Wars felt ornaments I made! Aren't they adorable? My girls were so excited to see these little guys go up on their own tree. You can find the kit here.
So, we're new to Star Wars in this family. My girls have picked up on some stuff here and there with the recent movies and cartoons. They knew way more about the story than I thought. Which I kinda love too! Because they have some kick ass female characters for my girls to watch on the big screen. My husband is still very anti-Star Wars. But who cares? I will be gearing up for a Star Wars movie marathon by myself, over the holidays and I don't care who knows it.
