Last year while attending #WeAllGrowFamilia I stopped by this beautiful little area filled with flowers and decor and that's where I met Celia Morales Milla of Pretty lil Things, a floral design and event styling company. Over the next few months I saw Pretty Lil Things at almost every event that I was invited to and attending, most recently having a small pop-up flower crown area at the LA Times Festival of Books at USC. So when a friend of mine asked if I knew anyone who could make a floral crown for his daughters college graduation, I knew just who to reach out to.
Meet Celia. Owner, Creator of Pretty lil Things
Celia is one of those hard working Latina's that makes it look easy. I'm here to tell you just because it looks easy, does not mean the struggle is not there. Pretty Lil Things is Celia's side hustle (she works a 9-5 too) and although it is what she loves to do and it is her way of letting her creativity flow, it is a lot of work. Hard work is something that she prides herself on, the hustle and the beauty of what she creates is the reward. It was my pleasure to hang out, chat and watch Celia create her art, all while being enveloped by the aroma of fresh flowers.
To be perfectly honest, I had never heard of flower crowns for a graduation cap, that was a new one for me. But what a great idea! If I could, I would wear a flower crown every single day and even more so for a special occasion. Flower crowns are the best natural accessory, they add a special touch and smell so good too.
Look at my friends daughter, that smile says it all. (She knew how fly she looked rocking that flower crown on her cap!) This right here is what it is all about, hard work paying off and celebrating in style. Congratulations to the next generation of hard working Latinas, I can't wait to see what you guys accomplish and the example you set for my daughters.
