Things to do and see in SoCal {LA County Fair} plus Ticket Giveaway!

Oh man.. Oh man.. Oh man! I don't know about you, but for me, my favorite part of any fair is the FOOD! I was lucky enough to attend the Fair Food Preview day at the LA County Fair and I have two words for you: Brisket Sundae! (More on that in a minute)

The LA County Fair is celebrating their 91st year of awesome family fun and is open from August 30-September 31. There are so many fun things to do besides eating delicious food. For the kids there are rides, games, and the petting zoo and for the adults there are bars, concerts and exhibits to check out.

So, let's get back to the food! (Keep reading to see how to WIN 2 TICKETS to the LA County Fair)

Oh yeah, most of the food I tried, I would definitely eat again but my FAVORITE was the Brisket Sundae. How often do you get yummy mashed potatoes in a cup, with some tender BBQ Brisket on top, that you can walk around with? Yum! Seriously, check out the Texas Style BBQ booth!
Visit the Skinny Bar for some Beer, Wine or Cocktails. I tried Angry Orchard's Hard Apple Cider. It was delicious!
If you are in the mood for some straight Southern Cajun style food, check out Harold and Belle's to Geaux. That was my first time trying a crayfish and it was okay, the flavor was good, but I prefer a little more food for a little less work. You should definitely try their catfish nuggets (not pictured) those were delicious! They also have a restaurant located on Jefferson Blvd. in Los Angeles, so you can check them out year round.
How about something a little less exciting but equally delicious, check out Monster Dogs. How can you go wrong with some curly fries and a corn dog? You can't. This may be a good choice for the kiddos. It's like an unwritten rule that a kid can't throw a tantrum when any sort of fries are involved.
Ooooh! This place was so good! I love me a blooming onion! Check out Fresh Frys, and get their half order of blooming onions to share with the family. I say half order so you have room to try other deliciousness going on!
Did I mention I brought a date with me? This is my bff Debra. We've been friends since Senior year of high school, so really this friendship is very young, since we only graduated a few years ago. (wink wink!) I had a great time chit chatting over some deep fried goodness. So if you don't want to take the kiddos or the ball and chain to the fair, this is the perfect opportunity for a girls night out.
Oh and I am glad to say I met a few ladies from the blogging world. So, go check out Chris from What I Run Into, she's HILARIOUS! Dani from Dani's Decadent Deals, she's always got some great deal to let you in on, and Jamie from Minnesota Girl in the World, is always on an adventure!
Back to some more food.
At Chicken Charlies, you can try almost anything fried! A Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe, Fried Twinkie, Fried Bacon wrapped Pickle or a Chicken Kabob. I heard they even have a deep fried Klondike Bar, I'll be going back to check that one out!
Ooh! 10 Pound Buns were pretty awesome too! They have so many options. The Nutella & Bacon, was not my favorite, but other's really loved it. I tried the pepperoni and sausage, as well as the buffalo chicken with Ranch, both were super delicious. There are many many many more options to try. So,  be sure to check them out when you visit the LA County Fair.

Here is some ticket price information for you. By the way, children under 5 are free every day!
