Well, yes, Easter was two weeks ago, but I am still barely recovering. Lol! My memories of Easter as a child, meant getting overly dressed up, with new dress, hat, gloves, and frilly socks, and playing with my cousins. And, up until I was 18 my mom would make a "Easter basket" for me filled with special goodies. Now, as a parent, I really want my kids to feel the magic of childhood and embrace their innocence. Soon, Easter will have much deeper meaning as the day that Christ was resurrected, but for now, Easter is about the Easter bunny. So, for the weeks building up to Easter, we prepared. I saved our egg shells for Confetti eggs and we decorated the house with eggs that the girls colored.
Here is a look at our recent Spring/Easter activities.
Ants on a log.
These were a first for my girls, Lacey loved them... and Lexie said, "I can't eat these."
Lexie dying her eggs, she was only sort of interested.
Lacey is all about doing anything out of the ordinary. She asked about dying eggs for weeks, then had to help with each step of dying the eggs including the set up, and then continued to talk about the eggs she dyed for days after Easter.
This was our first egg dying session, we ended up with 5 dozen confetti eggs, which I filled with some "pixie dust" or colored sand. This turned out to be a horrible idea and I had to not only wash my hair twice, but both my girls' hair twice.
This was an idea that I saw on Pinterest somewhere during the weeks before Easter. One day while the girls played outside, I hunted for snacks that would fit in the plastic eggs and surprised the girls with a fun snack.
I filled the eggs with sliced up grapes and little cuties, animal crackers, fruit snacks, raisins, and goldfish.
And once again, Lexie has that uninterested look on her face, and Lacey is too interested to smile for the camera. This was a fun snack for the girls and fun for me to do something different.
Oh! and Easter/Spring fingers and toes! Ugh, I love this part of having little girls. One day, I know I'll go broke having to get mani's and pedi's for myself and two girls, but for now, they are good with letting me be a nail artist a few times a month.

And now... Easter weekend in Instagram photos.
This year we attended the Easter festivities at our church New Beginnings in Norco, CA. Our church put on such a fun day of activities for the kids. They played a lot of little carnival games, hunted for eggs, and had free food and drinks. The girls had so much fun spending time with their Grandma and cousins.
And here, big cousin Lacey is holding her littlest cousin Emma in their first group photo.
My little Lexie in her flower headband that was as big as her head.

Me and my Hubby sneaking a pic.
Lexie getting Uncle David with confetti eggs.
Lacey with my Nina Cindy. These girls are so blessed to have such a loving extended family.
Lexie trying to get her big sister Lacey with confetti eggs.
And Lexie getting her daddy with confetti eggs. I think she had fun with the eggs this year, it really was her first year as an active participant, and not just the baby walking around. She obviously enjoyed herself!
My girls and I! A rare photo of the three of us, smiling, all looking at the camera! Whoa! This one needs a frame for sure!
Here are the cool cupcakes made by my sister Melinda (Pinda Sweets)
Lacey and her Easter cupcake that her Aunt Melinda made.
It got so cold, we only had time for one game. The kids played the egg race game, but no one dropped their egg. They all walked slowly, side by side, I am guessing in the next couple of years, these games are going to get a little more competitive.
We had such a Blessed Easter this year filled with memories, games, tons of sweets, and so so much love and special times spent with family. As for now, Easter is back in its box until next year, when the Easter bunny makes another appearance. ;)
