Kids Read for Free Rides! #LACountyFair

It's almost here! The Los Angeles County Fair will be up and running starting Friday, September 1st. Are you ready? I always share all of the new crazy fried food items because, let's face it, that's the best part. Haha!

Today I want to tell you about The LA County Fair Read to Ride Program. LACF is giving kids incentive to read this summer by rewarding free carnival ride vouchers.

What better way to give your children the motivation to keep up their reading skills over summer than by taking them on a trip to the fair? Children in kindergarten through eighth grade are eligible to receive up to six carnival ride vouchers when they create book reports and turn them in to America’s Kids. So read those books, write those reports and run on over to the Ferris wheel!

For the first three books that each child reads they earn three ride vouchers. For even more free fair-fun they can read an additional three books for a total of six vouchers.  All participants are required to create a book report for each of the books they choose to read.

· Sixth - Eighth grade: minimum 50 words
· Third - Fifth grade: minimum 25 words
· Kindergarten - Second grade: Pictures with a caption for each book

Each child must turn in the Read to Ride program form with their book reports to the America’s Kids. For guidelines and the program form please visit LACountyFair.com.

Make sure to follow LACF on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for updates and ticket giveaways.
