One thing that East Los Angeles lacks is Pumpkin Patches! I didn't even know that Pumpkin Patches were a thing until I ventured out of my little bubble and saw this giant carnival disguised as a pumpkin patch. I thought everyone bought their pumpkins at the market while doing their weekly grocery shopping. But now I love visiting pumpkin patches as a Fall family must do activity. Irvine Park Railroad is one of the best, most fun Pumpkin Patches you will find in Southern California.
Irvine Park Railroad has so much fun stuff.. on top of the beautiful pumpkins. Of course, all kids love treats and the snack bar has what you and your kids will love. So, be ready for that. I don't let them load up on sugar very often, but Pumpkin Patch family time is a good time and I want kettle corn too.
The face painting is always fun for the kids. They love getting their faces painted. Personally my favorite activities were the cookie decorating and games.
Some of the other things you can look forward to:
- Train Ride
- Hay Ride
- Paddle Boats
- Bike Rentals
- Moon Bounce
- Face Painting
- Panning for Gold
- Pumpkin Ring Toss
- Cookie Decorating
- Carnival Games
- Hay Maze
- Haunted House
The Pumpkin Patch at Irvine Regional Park is open from September 16- October 31st. The Pumpkin Patch is located just behind the train station and admission is FREE. However, there is a gate entrance fee that County of Orange charges for each vehicle that enters Irvine Regional Park.
And keep in mind that if you plan on visiting on the weekends, try to get there early because parking can get crazy.
