Bundle Up, Grab Your Hot Chocolate and Explore #LAZooLights

Oh LA Zoo, you are so beautiful during the holidays, all lit up, bright and pretty.

Don't you just love when the lights start going up around the neighborhood? Everything is just so much prettier when it's lit up and the LA Zoo is no exception. Starting November 18th through January 8th you can bundle up and visit the LA Zoo and see it in a whole new light!

As the LA Zoo celebrates their Golden Anniversary, (50 years of being awesome) they are celebrating in a big way with extra ZooLAbration touches throughout the Zoo. All of the lights and music are such a fun way to experience the LA Zoo. The various light shows and installations are really impressive too.

Living in Los Angeles, we don't really get much of a Winter, so we have to take advantage of whatever activities that are available to us, when we can. LA Zoo Lights is one of those opportunities. It's fun to bundle up, drink hot chocolate (alcohol is available for the adults), and check out the zoo like you're not used to seeing it. Most of the animals are sleeping at the time, but the lights make it a whole new experience. It's fun to see the Zoo that you know and love completely transformed. Like, when you walk by the Rainforest of Americas area, you can see this super awesome lazer light show overhead and these singing frogs created with recyclable materials.

REINDEER ROMP Nov. 18 - Jan. 8, 10 am-4pm

During the Holidays, you can see animals opening gifts, special live feedings, crafts and activities for the kids and take photos with Santa during the LA Zoo's Reindeer Romp. Oh and of course, the Reindeer! The LA Zoo has Reindeer available for guests to see up close during the day and the night, and this year they have two 6 month old babies that you can see and help name!

LA Zoo Lights and Reindeer Romp are two fun opportunities to make those family memories. Come on LA, get out and see what's going on. Just follow the lights. LA Zoo is adding more fun to the mix with their Holiday Happy Hours.

December 8 is Ugly Sweater Night โ€“ Don your most festive, over-the-top apparel and join us for an evening of holiday kitsch.

December 15 is 60s Cocktail Night โ€“ In honor of the Zooโ€™s 50th Anniversary, travel back to 1966, with retro cocktails, appetizers and a cool soundtrack to match.
