My favorite part of living in Los Angeles is the weekend driving. I love that we can drive to the beaches in Malibu, drive through Downtown LA and find all the beauty and culture in between. Especially when I get to drive around in a smooth, cool and comfortable ride like the Mazda CX-5. I like to pack our weekends with activities for the family. But the big question is: Can the Mazda CX-5 keep up with our schedule?
Ever since my husband and I were dating we would just get in the car, put on the music, roll down the windows and drive and drive and drive. No matter what, we always ended up at the beach. It's a special place for our family, we all love the beach for different reasons so it goes without saying that we'd end up there on any given weekend.
This is probably the best view you could ever get out of the Rear view Camera. I mean it's not every day that when you put your car into reverse you get a peek at the gorgeous blue skies and Pacific Ocean.
This was one of the first days that the California Incline in Santa Monica was reopened. This road is built on the side of a hill and has a view of the ocean. It was closed for over a year while they fixed it to withstand any possible earthquakes. It's such a cool road to drive down, and with the safety features on the Mazda CX-5 like the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) System and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, I was able to feel even safer while cruising down this scenic road.
The safety features that I mentioned above definitely came in handy during my drive through DTLA. There are a lot of crazy drivers out there. On this day we headed to Figat7th for lunch at The Melt. The Melt is a family friendly restaurant that has different types of delicious grilled cheese sandwiches and a tomato soup that is so so so good.
I took this shot on our way out of DTLA into East LA, this is from the 1st Street bridge and it's a road we travel often. This view usually signifies the end of a fun day for us, because it's on our way home.
Thank you Mazda for lending me this fun ride for the long holiday weekend. My schedule was filled with fun activities and the Mazda CX-5 kept my family safe and comfortable.
Sometimes it seems crazy, but our schedule is always filled with fun. My favorite thing about being a Mom is giving my girls something to remember. I want them to take advantage of their surroundings and learn and experience everything that they can. Not only did we visit the beautiful beaches in Malibu and downtown Los Angeles.
During this week, I headed to Disneyland to hang with Mickey, Minnie and Cigna to learn about healthy lifestyle options; took my girls to the monthly Kids Workshop at Home Depot and a cooking class for kids at Northgate Market, enjoyed a delicious meal at The Melt, found an abandoned Train in DTLA for us to explore and had brunch with the amazing women of my family.
There's never a shortage of fun out there. If you are thinking about a new car for the family, definitely check out the 2016 Mazda CX-5. We loved everything about this car, it was perfect for a family of 4 and comfortably sits 5. The trunk space is perfect for running errands and taking small trips and even has a hideout shade so you can feel safe about leaving your items in the trunk without anyone being able to peek in. Of course the power windows, locks and push button starts make life easier for anyone on the go and the Bose speakers and Bluetooth and Sirius capabilities just make the ride all that more enjoyable.
